Eye Exam in Pittsburgh, PA
A great eye care exam starts with understanding the patient. Here, at Lappen Eye Care, we consider everything from the health of the patients’ eyes to the impacts of lifestyle and health in order to better accommodate our patients.
What you need for your exam: Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment to complete patient paperwork. If you’re a new patient, it’s helpful to bring a copy of your most recent prescription from your previous provider.
You can also bring your current eyewear and/or a box of contact lenses for each eye showing your prescription on the label. If you have vision and/or medical insurance, please bring a copy of your insurance card. We accept most major insurances, EyeMed, VSP, UPMC, Davis, etc.
What to expect from your exam: We use a wide variety of tests and procedures to examine your eyes. These tests range from simple ones, like having you read an eye chart, to complex tests, such as using a high-powered lens to visualize the tiny structures inside of your eyes.
A comprehensive eye exam allows us to diagnose typical vision disorders and provide early detection of diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. Our doctors not only want you to enjoy excellent vision, but they also want to look after your total well-being.
